SP moves breach of privilege charge against BJP MPs
New Delhi, July 23: Stung by the accusations that Samajwadi Party (SP) leaders were also involved in the ‘note-for-vote’ scam before the trust vote on Tuesday, SP MP Mohan Singh told reporters on Wednesday that he has pressed for a breach of privilege charge against three BJP MPs for lowering the dignity of the Lok Sabha. The three BJP MPs — Fagan Singh Kulaste, Mahavir Bhagore and Ashok Argal — had alleged that SP MP Reoti Raman Singh and SP general secretary Amar Singh had struck a deal with them and gave them cash to make them abstain from voting during the confidence motion on Tuesday.
Mohan Singh confirmed that he has communicated with Speaker Somnath Chatterjee regarding the privilege notice against the BJP MPs for tarnishing the image of Parliament on four different counts, including placing money at the table of the House without the Speaker’s permission.
