Ahmedabad, August 12 : Authorities at the Asaram Ashram are worried now that the CID (Crime) has issued summons to Narayan Sindhi, son of Asaram Bapu, in connection with the investigations into the mysterious deaths of two boys here.

The CID (Crime) has asked Sindhi, also known as Narayan Sai, to appear before it in the wake of reports in local dailies that he is involved in exorcism. Sindhi has been living at an ashram in Sabarkantha.

Ashram authorities have said Sindhi is observing solitude and performing various rituals in the holy month of Shravan and the summons might disturb him. Uday Sangani, administrator of the Ashram in Ahmedabad said: “We have been co-operating with the CID (Crime) since the beginning. Even Sindhi will co-operate with the police. Our only concern is that the summons might disturb certain rituals being performed by him during the holy month. We are trying to see if we can get some concession for him to appear before the police after the rituals are over.”

Deputy Inspector General G S Malik said: "We have not received any communication from the ashram on this. If they approach us for such a request, we'll definitely consider it. After all, we just want to record his statement in the case following the reports against him in the newspapers.”
