The city crime branch officials on Wednesday said that they were hopeful of getting important leads on the absconding two accused --Abdul Subhan and Qayamuddin-- after the seizure during a search operation here.
"We have seized some hard drives from a cybercafe in Paldi area of the city and have sent them for analysis to the Directorate of Forensic Science (DFS) in Gandhinagar. The report is expected in a week or two," a crime branch official associated with the investigation said.
"The information from the hard drive might give us some new leads on Subhan and Qayamuddin who had sent some emails from this cybercafe before July 26 blasts. Our information is based on statements of some witnesses who had seen them in the cybercafe," the officer said.
On Tuesday, the crime branch also recovered incriminating literature containing provocative articles and informations on conducting Terror training camps.
"One of the reports is authored by the alleged serial blasts mastermind Mufti Abu Bashir. We believe that some of the articles in the magazines found are written by people connected with SIMI," the officer alleged.
Though most of the literature found was commonly available in the market, some documents were meant only for private circulation. An article penned by Bashir is called Nishan-e-Raha.
Some of the literature had detailed description on how to plan and conduct a terror training camp. One of the articles also described in detail how a Narco analysis test was conducted.
The documents recovered contained number of editions of a Hindi magazine named Tahrik published from Kota in Rajashtan. There was some literature published from Allahabad and other parts of the country, which were authored by different writers.
According to crime branch officials the documents were found from a well near the Sidi Sayyed mosque in Laldarwaja area of the city.
The documents were wrapped in a plastic bag by one of the accused in the serial blasts case and thrown into the well after the blast, the officials had said.
The documents were recovered after a witness informed the police about incident, they added.
