Taunton, September 3: : The spectre of a series defeat looms large on India but vice captain Jhulan Goswami still refuses to give in and believes her side can win the next three ODIs to clinch the Cricket tri-series against England.

India were beaten by eight wickets in the first ODI and by 10 wickets in the second as England raced to a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.

On the eve of the third ODI in Taunton, Jhulan, however, oozed confidence that the team would arrest the slide on Thursday.

"We can still do well and I believe we can come back and win the series as each and every game is different," said the fast bowler. "Cricket is the most uncertain game in the world," she said.

Indian batters cut a sorry figure in both the matches, with just four registering double figure scores. In fact it could have been worse but for skipper Mithali Raj's scores of 44 and 53 not out. "We are playing quite badly at the moment," Jhulan confessed.

"The top order batting is not playing as well as they can. If they click it will be different for us. In one-day cricket you need runs on the board. It is difficult to bowl when you are defending a low total," she said.

Jhulan also felt the English side under Charlotte Edwards has made tremendous progress. "They have improved a lot. They are playing good cricket having beaten Australia in Australia and New Zealand in New Zealand and won against South Africa. "They are playing good cricket at the moment but we can beat them," Jhulan said.
