The Chief Minister, who was released from the hospital in the morning, was answering to queries by the media on the recent 'chargesheet' by his rivals led by party state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan criticizing him for making such a statement.
“Pharis had been involved in a major scam at the National Kidney Foundation in Singapore. I don’t see any fresh reason for changing my stand on Pharis," VS said, sending a clear message to the official faction of the party that he could not be threatened or silenced.
In early August, the state committee had reviewed the report of the state conference where VS was criticised on several issues. The report, slated for discussion among party workers, had said it was unwarranted for VS to call Pharis a ‘hated person’.
VS had called Pharis a ‘hated man’ after he donated Rs 60 lakh for organising a football tournament in the memory of E K Nayanar in Kannur.
