New Delhi, Septebmer 4: With the Congress leadership concerned about the party’s perceived failure to communicate to the people, especially in recent times, on contentious issues like the Amarnath row, Indo-US nuclear deal and terrorism because of dwindling organisational base, the ruling party at the Centre is falling back on Mahatma Gandhi to revive its fortunes.

It has prepared a blueprint for its revival at the grassroots level, which recommends a range of activities — from sports to cultural — to woo the youth to “Gandhi March” in every district of the country to mobilise people and explain the party’s stance on issues like POTA, Sethusamudram project and even Afzal Guru case.

There is also a proposal to form Social Action Groups, consisting of “local intellectuals with secular outlook”, to take on the BJP on communal issues. This group will organise “discussions, talks, brainstorming sessions, debates, publications of articles in local media, penal discussions in local channels”, according to party sources.

Gandhi March will be organised in every district, covering most of the villages, to create awareness among the people about the party’s stance on burning issues and to mobilise the masses. The main objective of the campaign, according to a party document, is “to enable the general public to acquire exact knowledge of facts/information on issues like ‘abolition of POTA’, ‘whether Congress is soft towards terrorism?’ and ‘delay in the execution of punishment to Afzal Guru’, ‘Sethusamudram’.

AICC media cell chairperson M Veerappa Moily confirmed the plans. “In fact,

we are implementing it in Andhra Pradesh. We will also launch Gandhi March in Assam from October 2,” he said.

The party plans to convert Gandhi March into a massive mass mobilisation campaign, organising interactive theatres, songs, speeches, wall writing, pamphlet distribution and public meetings. At least two-three educated persons will be selected in every gram panchayat to “form public opinion and provide correct information on various issues”. The criteria for the selection of gram panchayat-level workers include, among other things, “preferably graduates”, “below 30 years of age”, and “should not be aspiring for salaried jobs”, says the document. They will be given three-day “residential training” by the party.

District/block committees are proposed to have a cell to stage protests and agitation programmes on issues like dowry deaths, harassment of women, Dalits and weaker sections, road, education and electricity. There is also a proposal to organise activities for children, including essay writing, debate, story telling, cultural and sports activities, tuitions and coaching.

The Indian youth and the bollywood industry must act now.All these currupt politicians must be removed from office.Any politician with proved or unproved charges, pending charges and who are under investigations, must be denied access to power.Any transparancy of investigations will reveal, connivance of politicians with smugglers, terrorists and anti Indian elements.Just pay thousands of crores in bribes and the politicians will sell their country for personal gains. The influence of the politicians must be removed from from the beurocrasy and law enforcement. We are getting sorrounded from all the sides, west and north by Pakistan, north and north east by China, east by Burma,a close ally of China and to east by Bangladesh. They want India destroyed and broken,so that these vultures can feed.We have to wake up and shake up.Do not forget, every time few thousand invaders came to India and ruled millions of us.Why because we were divided to start with
