On US visit, Antony to meet Rice

New Delhi, Septebmer 4: Defence Minister A K Antony will meet Defence Secretary Robert Gates and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice during his first-ever visit to the US next week.

The Minister, who is leaving for a three-day visit on Sunday, will also meet US National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley.

While Antony will be leading a high-powered delegation to the US, he has made it clear that no agreement or defence deal will be signed during the the visit. He has described his maiden tour to the US as a ‘reciprocal’ visit after Gates came to India.

The Indian delegation will comprise the Defence Secretary, Director General (Acquisitions) and senior three-star officers from the Army, Navy and the Air Force.
