Stars like Madonna, Mary-Kate Olsen and Kelly Preston have been showing off their shoulders in cut-out shoulder tops, tunics and dresses. “It is a flirtatious look that allows you to show skin in a sophisticated manner,” says designer Nandita Mahtani. If you are wearing a cut-out shoulder top or dress, make sure that the shoulder is the only skin you flaunt. “If you’re showing skin on your shoulder, don’t show any cleavage,” advises Mahtani. Even though a cut-out shoulder is more of an evening look, if you wear a simple cut-out shoulder top with a pair of jeans, you could sport this look during the day as well. To add toughness to the look, team the look with a pair of gladiator sandals.
