




GGNIMT alumni association felicitates principals
The alumni association of GGN Institute of Management and Technology celebrated the day by felicitating the principal of various schools for their contribution in the field of education and society. Chief Parliamentary Secretary Harish Rai Dhanda was the chief guest.
Principals who were awarded include: Sister Chantal, R S Gill, R S Patial, Paramjit Kaur, Sunil Arora, Karnail Singh, Santosh Mehra, M R Mehta and B Gulati. Director GGNIMT Kuldip Singh appreciated the efforts of the alumni association. Professor Gunwant Singh Dua, co-ordinator of GGNIMT also admired the idea of commending the principals.
Greenland Sr Sec Public School, Jalandhar Byepass
Tributes were paid to Dr S Radhakrishnan on the day. The senior students mesmerised everyone with their cultural performances. Rajesh Rudhra the chairman-cum-director of the school also addressed the teachers on the occasion.
DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur
Students delivered speeches to mark the day. They also presented an entertaining dance performance. Yogesh Gambhir, principal of the school congratulated the teachers and students. He encouraged the teachers to do their best.
Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar
Day-long celebrations marked the day. Colourful decorations and scintillating performances by children made the celebration an assorted blend of festivity and fun. The tiny-tots of the school performed a dance.
An enactment by the children reiterated the importance of teachers in a student’s life. A guitar performance by Class XI students stole the show. Sister Sobel, the school principal, greeted the teachers on the occasion and reminded students of the indispensable role played by teachers in shaping their character.
BCM School, Basant City
The students performed a cultural show where they presented various speeches, poem and skits. Principal Amarjyoti Chawla congratulated all the teachers on the occasion.
Nankana Sahib Public School, Gill Park
Teachers’ Day was celebrated with pomp and show. Students wished their teachers and expressed their gratitude by presenting cards. Seven teachers were honoured for recording best results. These included Jaswinder Kaur, Kamaljit Kaur Tiwana, Gurmeet Kaur Gill, Amarjit Kaur, Daljit Kaur Gill, Amardeep Kaur Gill and Malwinder Singh. Harmeet Kaur Waraich, principal of the school congratulated all the teachers. An inter-house Punjabi solo song competition was also held. Lovepreet Kaur of Class IX stood first while Jasmeen Kaur of Class VII stood second.
