On August 22, the investigating agency in the case, CID (Crime)had moved an application for narco analysis of Saxena and Bhati on the ground that both had refused to part with any information with respect to the case.
The agency had also concluded that their lie-detector test was inconclusive and had given rise to contradictions.
The lawyer of the accused, however, contended in court that since the order regarding the validity of the narco analysis was pending before the Supreme Court, it would be wise to wait for the apex court's judgment.
It was also pleaded before the court that a narco analysis violated the rights of the accused under Article 20 (3) of the Constitution.
The CID (Crime)has so far failed to make any major headway in the case.
