




The game got off to a feisty start with both teams showing their eagerness to win. Poona College demonstrated their aggressive play by tacking hard and playing some rough football. Ness Wadia on the other hand played a calmer game and passed the ball around well. They created some good moves and threatened to score on many occasions. They enjoyed majority of possession and it paid off when they took the lead through Abdullah Shaikh. The last five minutes saw Poona College launching a few attacks on the opposition goal but in vain. The half ended 1-0.
Ness Wadia started the second half well, winning a couple of free kicks in the opening few minutes. However, the Poona College defence was strong and they cleared the ball on both the occasions. Poona College then applied some good pressure on the Wadia goal. They had an opportunity to equalise when their left-winger cut past two defenders and crossed the ball well but their striker squandered this opportunity. They created some good openings and were moving the ball well but lacked quality in finishing. Ness Wadia absorbed all the pressure and defended resolutely. The referee blew his final whistle and the match ended 1-0.
