Ganesh Darshan
The Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Deve-lopment Corporat-ion Limited, has organised an exhibition-cum-sale titled Ganesh Darshan from September 5 to 8 at Tilak Smarak Mandir. A display of Trishti Ganesha, Dancing Ganesha, Umbrella Ganesha, Vivasa Ganesha is there. Apart from these, bronze items, brass Oil lamps, wooden carved articles tanjore painting and so on are on display. The special feature of the exhibition is a tall idol of Ganesha and six-feet idol of Mahalaxmi and Saraswati, that are made from alloys of five metals (panchdhatu) along with seven- feet bronze idol of Nataraja. The exhibition is open on all days from 10.00 am to 8.00 pm.

Helping hand
The Rotary Club of Pune Central has sent relief material to Patna recently to be distributed to the flood affected people of Bihar. “5000 nylon blankets and four tons of non-perishable eatables have been sent to Patna recently,” informed Rotarian Dr Nasir Kazi, president of the club. He also said that this consignment is sent as a token to give immediate relief to the flood victims. All the necessary arrangements have been made through the Rotary Clubs in Patna to distribute this material to the victims. The Club had established a cottage hospital in Latur, built a school in Gujarat village after the earthquakes and also did rehabilitation camps in Tamilnadu and Sri Lanka after the Tsunami. “We plan to undertake similar rehabilitation projects in Bihar, as soon as possible, when situation improves to undertake such project effectively with full supervision and involvement of our members,” said Kazi.

Rukmani Kalyan Mahotsav
Shree Hari Hara Bhajanam Samajam, Rasta Peth has arranged a two-day Rukmani Kalyan Mahotsav on September 13 and 14. AVK Rajasimmhan and party from Chennai will conduct the Mahotsav. The programme includes ashtapathi bhajan, divyanamam and deeparadhna to all deities in the temple. Other activities like abhishekam and puja will also take place.

Grand Celebrations
Abhishekam, puja and maha aarti of Lord Hanuman marked grand celebrations on all Mondays and Saturdays of the month of Shravan at Shree Untade Maruti Temple in Rasta Peth. Pandit B Suryanarayan, Prasannavenkateshwa-ran, Vitthal Borgaonkar, Priests R H Krishnan and V mahadevan performed all religious functions.
