DMK-PMK at loggerheads again

Chennai::After a brief lull, the spat between allies has started again, with Chief Minister M Karunanidhi accusing partner PMK of jeopardising development works across the state.

Pointing out PMK’s opposition to the titanium plant proposed by the Tata Group in Tuticorin district, Karunanidhi wrote in his column in the party mouthpiece Murasoli that PMK founder S Ramadoss was asking for the development of the backward region while he opposed acquisition of land for setting up these industries.

Karunanidhi alleged this has denied employment opportunities to hundreds of youths in the district.

Ramadoss’ latest remark about the neighbouring states having built new airports seems to have irked the Chief minister, who retorted that the state's plan for expanding the existing facility was stalled by PMK's staunch opposition.
