Anger spilled onto the streets of India, as lawmakers, rights groups and students erupted in protests over the gang rape of the 23-year-old medical student, in a moving bus in New Delhi, now being referred as the rape capital of the country. In a show of solidarity to the victim, people flocked to India Gate hosting a candlelight vigil. Earlier in the day, visibly irate protestors across the nation called the incident as the failure of the Delhi police to deter predators from committing crimes against women.
