The West Bengal Police today arrested the warden of Karabi Hostel, Uma Poddar following an allegation that she forced a class fifth student of Visva-Bharati's Patha Bhavan School to drink her own urine as a punishment for bedwetting. Podder will be produced in a Birbhum Court later in the day. The parents of the victim have also been held for manhandling Poddar, after the incident came into light. Meanwhile, NCPCR Chairperson Shanta Sinha asked for the inquiry in the case. Sinha added that the case was a matter of serious concern.
