Kol school crisis: teachers freed
Posted on Tue , 18 Dec '12
After holding their principal and teachers hostage for around 24 hours, the students of the girls' school Rishi Aurobindo Balika Vidyalaya in Kolkata have finally let them free on the basis of a promise by higher authorities that their answer scripts would be re-examined. Teachers of the school said off the record that the decision to re-examine answer scripts was humiliating and would set a very bad precedent. The students had seized the school last afternoon when 29 students had failed their exam. They had then locked up the principal and teachers.
