In an act of ceasefire violation Pakistani troops have fired mortar shells towards Indian army posts in Uri sector near the LOC in the disputed Himalayan region of Kashmir and attacked an army patrol, killing two Indian soldiers. Army officials said that Pakistan started firing the shells early on Sunday morning into a civilian habitation, but there were no casualties or injuries. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said that Indian troops had not crossed the LOC or violated the ceasefire, and confirmed Pakistan Army's ceasefire violation.
