In a major development, the curator at Eden Gardens, Prabir Mukherjee, has been replaced after he refused to prepare a rank turner for the third Test between India and England beginning in Kolkata on December 5, as requested by Indian captain MS Dhoni. Mukherjee has been a veteran curator at the Eden Gardens and he has prepared pitches for 14 Tests in the past. He has been replaced by Ashish Bhowmick of the Tripura Cricket Association., who is also a member of the BCCI's Pitches Committee,
