Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 27.49 points down to stand at 19,457.28. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 6.40 points down to stand at 5,897.10. MMTC Ltd. and Hindustan Copper Ltd. were among the top gainers with an increase of 19.63% and 10.28% along with Indian Bank and Punj Lloyd Ltd. with an increase of 5.38% and 3.93% respectively, while the top losers include Cadila Healthcare Ltd. and Financial Technologies (India) Ltd. with a decrease of 6.74% and 4.54% along with United Breweries Ltd. and ACC Ltd. with a decrease 3.68% and 3.32% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 29.08 points at 10,838.73, while the banking sector is up 47.24 points at 14,150.23 and the realty sector is up 22.20 points at 2,174.95. The Indian currency is down 0.38 % at Rs 53.71 per dollar.
