Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 224.25 points down to stand at 18928.16. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 79.70 points down to stand at 5,717.20. Opto Circuits (India) Ltd. and Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd. were among the top gainers with an increase of 7.64percent and 4.82percent along with Jaypee Infratech Ltd. and Multi Commodity Exchange Of India Ltd. with an increase of 3.38percent and 2.90percent respectively, while the top losers include Suzlon Energy Ltd. and IVRCL Ltd. with a decrease of 29.07percent and 10.94percent along with Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd. and Reliance Communications Ltd. with a decrease 9.76percent and 9.66percent at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is down 73.68 points at 10,479.35, while the banking sector is down 409.94 points at 13,285.75 and the realty sector is down 45.11 points at 2,021.41. The Indian currency is down 0.87 percent at Rs 54.33 per dollar.
