Delegates at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Charlotte, North Carolina hailed Bill Clinton's speech saying it provided a detailed criticism of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and energized the party base. Folksy and long on detail, Clinton gave a cogent defense of Barrack Obama's actions as president. Clinton gave point-by-point criticism of Romney, who is running neck to neck with Obama in opinion polls, and congressional Republicans. He accused Romney of wanting to overhaul government entitlement programs Medicare and Medicaid in a way that would reduce benefits for poor children and seniors.
