After Priyanka Chopra’s cousin,Parineeti Chopra and Katrina Kaifs sister Isabella Kaif,it is the turn of Amrita Raos sister Preetika Rao to make an entry into showbiz. However, unlike Chopra or Kaif, Rao will instead be making her debut on television.
Preetika, who was a film journalist in real life, has also acted in a Tamil flick,Chikku Bukku with Arya in 2010. But instead of looking out for a Bollywood film, which is the conventional route followed by the actors, she will be seen playing the female lead in an upcoming show on Colors. Titled Beintehaa, the show features the actress in a passionate love story opposite a newbie.
Talking more about the project, producer Farhan Salruddin of Fortune Productions says,We wanted a girl, who was spunky and at the same time has a streak of a small-town girl. When we met Preetika,we thought she was perfect for the role.
The show, which is set in Mumbai, has the actress playing a Bhopal-based girl, who arrives in the big city. The initial episodes of the show will be shot in Bhopal. The shooting of Beintehaa is set to commence from November 21,and the show is slotted to go on air from December 30,replacing Bigg Boss, which will have completed its run by then.
