(File Photo)The Kerala High Court has suspended its two officials, including an assistant registrar, ordering an investigation for staging a skit that allegedly had “derogatory” content against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and criticised the BJP-led government at the Centre during a Republic Day event on Friday.
High Court Registrar-General P Kirshna Kumar suspended Assistant Registrar Sudhish T A and court keeper Sudheesh P M on Friday, following a direction from the court’s Chief Justice Ashish Jitendra Desai, who has also directed the registrar (vigilance) to investigate the incident and sought an explanation from the registrar (administration) on the circumstances under which the “controversial show” was held at the Court auditorium.
The BJP legal cell has filed a complaint with the Court CJ, alleging that “the skit staged as part of the High Court’s cultural programmes had ‘derogatory’ content against PM Narendra Modi and the Union government’s flagship initiatives like Jal Jeevan Mission and Bharat ki Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”.
