SBI unveils self service kiosk

For the convenience of students and employees,a Self-Service Kiosk (SSK) was installed at the Panjab University State Bank of India branch

For the convenience of students and employees,a Self-Service Kiosk (SSK) was installed at the Panjab University State Bank of India branch on Wednesday. With the key purpose behind its launch to remove congestion at the branch counters and promote the use of debit cards,three more such kiosks were installed at the Chandigarh main branch,Sector 31 branch,and Madhya Marg branch in the city.

Speaking on the inauguration S K Sehgal,chief general manager,Chandigarh circle explained that this kiosk will further enhance customer convenience and self dependence while enabling them to update passbooks,change personal details in the account through mobile,order cheque books,obtain mini-statement of account,do internet banking registration,and carry out balance enquiry,without the intervention of any bank employee.

Further,the customers can make various financial and non-financial transactions on these kiosks using their ATM-cum-debit cards,said the bank officials. SSK is also expected to help in reducing the workload for Single Window Operators (SWOs) and reduce the waiting time for customers.

An outlet for instant gold loans was also inaugurated at the main branch of State Bank of India (SBI),Sector 17 on Wednesday. The outlet will enable the borrowers to obtain loan against their gold ornaments instantly. Sehgal said that gold borrowings will help in improving liquidity among general public.
