Honk Kong listed CLP India today said they are pursuing a range of projects in the country to expand its footprint,including commitment to add 200 MW of wind power generation annually to its portfolio. The company has got environmental clearance for setting up 1050 MW gas fired power plant in Bharuch district of Gujarat and is awaiting gas allocation from the government.

“We have got environment clearance for setting up a gas fired plant of 1050 MW in Bharuch,and expect the plant construction to begin sometime this year,” Managing Director CLP India,Ranjan Misra told PTI.

The gas fired plant is proposed to come up at the company’s existing 655 MW dual fuel power plant at its site in Bharuch,and will be commissioned in three phases after allocation of gas,he said. The company is also pursuing 450 MW of wind power projects in the country which are under various stages of implementation.

“Currently we have 450 MW of wind power projects under

construction across the country,” Misra said.

“We plan to add 200 MW of wind power generation facility annually,” Misra said adding “these projects could come up in states like Gujarat,Maharashtra,Karnataka and Tamil
