The Haryana police are gearing up to strengthen their workforce with additional personnel who have received training in computer operations,soft skills and social work. As many as 726 recruits of 5th batch of Haryana Armed Police (HAP) from Centre for Police Training and Research at Bhondsi have already joined the force as constables in Haryana Police earlier this week.
The state police plan to make its various records available online very soon. Private players,including NGOs like Seeds India,have played a major role in their training programme.
The new batch will also prove helpful in handling cases involving cyber crimes. These policemen will prove beneficial when deputed in the cyber crime cell since they have the basic knowledge of IT, IG Sheel Madhur said.
The recent batch underwent the training for a longer duration than the stipulated time. Most of these new recruits will be deployed in the NCR region due to the increasing demands in these districts compared to rest of the state, the police officer added. The IG said since the state police was gearing up to go online,to the extent of making even case diaries available on its official website,there was a demand for computer-trained professionals.
The police department has also trained soft skills to the force and deployed them at pulse polio booths.
Madhur said they were in the process of chalking out a course for senior policemen above the age of 40 years to train them in similar aspects like computers,soft skills,etc at the Bhondsi training centre.
As part of preparations for the Commonwealth Games,the Union government plans to spend Rs 23 crore on modernisation of the Gurgaon and Faridabad police.
An amount of Rs 20 crore has been sanctioned for modern outdoor surveillance system in these districts.
