Study on challenges faced by biz women

FICCI Ladies Organization,has released a study on marketing achievements faced by women entrepreneurs.

FICCI Ladies Organization,working continuously for women entrepreneurship and the empowerment of women,in collaboration with Hanns Seidel Foundation of Germany,has released a study on “Marketing Achievements and the Challenges Faced by Women Entrepreneurs: Delhi & NCR.”

The project study was initiated to recognize the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs in Delhi and NCR and recommend solutions for the same. The survey has been conducted by Mrs. Ratna Bhatia,Director-Programmes,Foreign Trade Development Centre,New Delhi.

The study is well-researched that envelops original and relevant issues related to achievements and challenges faced by women entrepreneurs in the NCR. Commenting on the study,Mrs. Bhatia says,“The significance of the study is the fact that it encompasses women entrepreneur achievers who have stood out by their contribution and participation in the socio-economic fabric of the NCR in particular and the nation as a whole.”

The study was officially released on November 25,2009 by Sanjay Gupta,Senior Vice President and Head of the India Leadership team,American Express. Other distinguished guests were,Nita Mehta,celebrity cookery expert,Preeti Chandra who started the apparel retail chain called Girl Forever (GFO),Ms. Nidhi Bhageria owner of “Celeste chocolates”.

The study was designed in four different sections. The first one depicts a general view of women entrepreneurship and wide-ranging developments in the Indian context. The next section deals with the three different and upcoming industries where women have made their mark as entrepreneurs namely,Retail,Food & Hospitality and Beauty. In this section,the individual cases as well as the contribution of women as employment generators in these industries are discussed.
