Tania Zaetta arrested for causing ‘public nuisance’

The model-actress,who was seen in 'Salaam Namaste' was arrested for creating a disturbance at a club.

Australian model-actress Tania Zaetta,who made a mark in Bollywood with films like ‘Salaam Namaste’ and ‘Bunty Aur Babli’,was arrested outside a Gold Coast nightclub early this morning for “causing a public nuisance”.

The 41-year-old spent the night in the Southport watch house after a disturbance outside the nightclub,reported Herald Sun online. She was charged with causing a public nuisance and obstructing police and bailed to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on April 4.

A statement released by her management firm said she would “protest her innocence to the charges and strenuously defend the matters in court” and denied that she was drunk when arrested.

Her lawyer John Weller has made an urgent request to police to ensure the CCTV footage,which is available to them,to be preserved and “which will greatly assist in the defense of Ms Zaetta,” the statement said.

“Ms Zaetta has always conducted herself with integrity,dignity and with respect to those around her. Any inference or suggestion through media reports that alcohol has played any role in this matter are ludicrous and baseless,” said the statement.

The Gold Coast Bulletin reported that Zaetta was taken to the Southport watch house after being arrested in Orchard Avenue Surfers Paradise early this morning and issued with a $400 on-the-spot fine for allegedly refusing to leave a licensed premise.

Zaetta,shot to fame hosting the 1990s television show ‘Who Dares Wins’ and went on to work in Bollywood films including item numbers in ‘Mr Black Mr White’.
