The 35-day long Budget session of the state Assembly will begin on Thursday. In the first sitting,Ganpatsinh Vesta Vasava is likely to be unanimously elected as Speaker. In the second sitting,vote of thanks for the Governors address will be made and condolence to late members of the House will be given. A few Bills will also be tabled in the House. On February 25,Finance Minister Vaju Vala will present the Budget for 2011-12 for the 17th time. On March 3,4 and 5,there will be debates on the Governors speech. During the session,over 12 important Bills are likely to be tabled. Among them will be the Gujarat Money Laundering (Control) Bill,Mumbai Public Trust Bill,Bombay Land Revenue Code,the Bombay,Rent,Hotel and Lodging House Rent Control Bill,Mumbai-Kutch Inami (free) Land Bill,Agriculture & Industrial Land Ceiling Bill,Regularisation of Lease-Higher Lands,Handover of Acquired Farmland Bill,Land Fragmentation Bill,Amendment in Fisheries Act and Regularisation of Illegal Construction in the State Bill and Financial Responsibility Act (amendments) Bill. The session will conclude on March 30.
