Bigg Boss 14 is here to give 2020 a befitting reply. With popular celebrities and a few former champions getting locked in the house, and Salman Khan back as the host, the season promises to be a blockbuster.
Like the contestants, the Bigg Boss house has a personality of its own. Designed by Omung Kumar, the house this year has an ultramodern feel. Also to give housemates the pre-lockdown experience, a theater, spa, restaurant and shopping mall have also been included in the Bigg Boss 14 house.
Elaborating on the new space, art director Omung Kumar in a statement shared that he worked on the project for more than two months along with his wife Vanita, who is also the production designer. “We ideated on the theme of the show and agreed on keeping it futuristic as we all were looking at moving ahead from the current scenario. There is a mix of funky bright colours and metallic hues blended in a way that stands out. There are also no straight lines, and we have used a lot of curves on each surface. Right from the entrance to different zones in the house, to the dining area, the sleeping area, and even the confession room, each part of the house is unique and explores our theme in a better way.”

The grand entry
The most feared Bigg Boss eye adorns the main entry of the house, and it promises to open a new world for the housemates. The garden area

The seating area

The dining table
Since everyone missed out on the outdoor dining experience during the lockdown, a diner-style seating with designated tables and chairs have been created for the contestants. The kitchen counter has also been converted into a console with bar stools. Open shelves, bright colours, and a long spiral platform make the kitchen a refreshing zone. The bedroom
The only safe haven for contestants is the bedroom, where they can enjoy some ‘me time’. This season, the room has orange colour beds. Once again, a huge metallic eye has been put up on the wall that overlooks the beds. Glass tables beside the beds will be used to put the housemates' personal belongings. The bathroom
Bigg Boss 14 will have an underwater theme bathroom with sea green walls. Robotic arms and legs have been added in the area as props. Bamboo seating in the corner will allow gossip and hush-hush conversations. As for the entrance, it’s lit up with bright red lighting. (Photo: PR Handout)
The confession room
The entrance to the confession room has been designed in a way that it will transport the contestants to another world. One of the most dramatic spaces of the house, it has been crafted keeping in mind the nature of its existence and the volatility of emotions. Other luxuries
Apart from a sprawling restaurant-style dining area, for the first time, Bigg Boss house will also include some important amenities. As the house is full of challenges, contestants will get some time to relax and rejuvenate at the in-house spa. If that’s not the therapy they are looking for, they can indulge in some retail therapy by visiting the mall.
